Guard Tour Hardware - SilverGuard Downloaders

BCS Downloaders let you download patrol data from your wands in four different ways according to your needs and convenience. These Downloaders can be attached to a variety of peripheral devices such as Modems, Printers and Computers in order to export data from the SilverGuard Wands for reporting and data manipulation. The BCS Downloaders are exclusive products of Brooklyn Computer Systems Inc. BCS offers the following three types of Downloaders:

Computer Transfer Station (CTS)

The CTS enables you to download patrol data from the wands directly to a computer running SilverGuard Security Guard Monitoring System software (SilverGuard software) for data manipulation and reporting.

What it Does ?

The Computer Transfer Station (CTS) is used to download collected data in the SilverGuard Wand to the computer which is running SilverGuard Security Guard Monitoring System software (SilverGuard software). Simply place the wand into the CTS and the data stored in the wand will be automatically downloaded to the computer.

Using the CTS

The CTS must be connected to your computer’s serial or USB port when transferring data to SilverGuard software. The power adapter must be connected to the CTS as well.

LED Indicators

The red LED turns and stay on when the CTS starts communicating with the PC software. The green LED comes on when the unit is powered up and flashes when data is being transferred from the wand.

Modem Transfer Station (MTS)

The MTS enables you to download patrol data from the wands via a modem connection to a computer running SilverGuard software for data manipulation and reporting.

What it Does ?

The Modem Transfer Station (MTS) is used to download collected data in the SilverGuard Wand via modem to the computer which is running SilverGuard Security Guard Monitoring System software (SilverGuard software). Simply place the wand into the MTS, if the red led is not on, press the reset button and the data stored in the wand will be automatically downloaded via the modem to the computer

Using the MTS

The MTS must be connected to your modem’s serial port when transferring data via modem to SilverGuard software. The power adapter must be connected to the MTS as well.

LED Indicators

The red LED turns and stay on when the MTS is connected to a modem, it turns off after a transfer to the PC is completed. The green LED comes on when the unit is powered up and flashes when data is being transferred from the wand.

Mobile Computer Transfer Station (MCTS)

The MCTS enables you to download patrol data from the wands directly into this stand-alone downloader. The MCTS can be carried around by a supervisor and later attached to a computer in order to retrieve the collected downloads for processing by SilverGuard software.

Why use the MCTS ?

The Mobile Computer Transfer Station (MCTS) frees you from having to bring your wands to a central office in order to download their data.

With the MCTS, you can now download wand data on-site!

The MCTS is similar to a CTS, however its ability to download checkpoint data from multiple wands without having to be connected to a computer gives it a edge over a standard CTS. Typically, the guard supervisor carries around the MCTS and at each site, downloads checkpoint data from each wand into the MCTS. After all checkpoint data has been downloaded, the supervisor returns to the office, connects the MCTS to a computer running BCS software such as Security Report System (SRS) and uploads the downloaded data to SRS.

Using the MCTS

In the Field

The MCTS comes with two types of power adapters: the first type plugs into your vehicle’s cigarette lighter, and the second type plugs into a wall socket or power bar. The MCTS must be connected to either type of power adapter when downloading data from a wand.

At Head Office

Like a regular CTS, the MCTS must be connected to your computer’s serial or USB port when transferring data to SRS. The power adapter that is plugged into a wall socket or power bar must be plugged into the MCTS as well. However, unlike regular CTS, the MCTS cannot be used to program schedules from a wand when it is connected to your computer.

LED Indicators

The red LED will flash if the MCTS contains data. If there is no data in the MCTS, the red LED will remain steady (it will not flash). The green LED will flash when data is being transferred to and from the MCTS.

Capacity

The MCTS has a memory capacity of approximately 37,000 checkpoints. When the MCTS is full and a download attempt is made the MCTS will emit a long buzzing sound to notify the user of its current state
